The present report describes the MEDIPOLEX exercise taken in 2004 by REMPEC. The objectives of the MEDIPOLEX exercise were 1) to test the functioning of communication systems and the regional mechanism for mutual assistance between Contracting Parties to the Emergency Protocol to the Barcelona Convention and between REMPEC and national authorities responsible for accidental marine pollution response, and 2) to practice the use of POLREP foe exchanging information.
